Collection: LEO BURING
Bill and Vicki Widin purchased the substantial 1960s-planted Brokenback vineyard on ’09, the original 50ha comprising semillon, chardonnay and shiraz. By ’13, they’d built a winery and cellar door – a suite of 20 luxury villas was built in ’22. Over time, they’ve added verdelho, pinot gris, gewürztraminer and tempranillo to the original vineyard. In ’16 Leogate purchased a 61ha certified organic vineyard at Gulgong (Mudgee) planted to shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Leogate acquired the Black Cluster vineyard in ’20. It’s predominantly planted to old-vine shiraz, with some semillon in tow. -JAMES HALLIDAY
