Collection: SEPPELT

The historic Seppeltsfield property and its bounty of old fortified wines was established by the Seppelt family in 1851. Later acquired by Foster’s Group (now Treasury Wine Estates), Seppeltsfield returned to private ownership in '07 with Warren Randall now owning in excess of 90% of its capital. Warren, former sparkling winemaker for Seppelt Great Western in the 1980s, has led a revival of Seppeltsfield, gradually restoring the heritage-listed property. The estate’s 1888 gravity cellar is back in full operation and a tourism village has been established. Warren has also slowly pieced together the largest premium, privately owned vineyard holding in the Barossa – enabling Seppeltsfield to complement its treasure trove of fortifieds with table wine releases. The 100 Year Old Paras have no parallel anywhere else in the world and the conjunction of 100 years of devoted stewardship (think former cellarmaster James Godfrey) and have had an outcome that can never, ever, be duplicated. -JAMES HALLIDAY
