Collection: OLIVER'S TARANGA VINEYARDS

William and Elizabeth Oliver arrived from Scotland in 1839 to settle in McLaren Vale. Six generations later, members of the family are still living on the Whitehill and Taranga farms. The Taranga property has 15 varieties planted (the lion’s share to shiraz, grenache and fiano, with lesser quantities of cabernet, touriga, mataro, sagrantino, tempranillo, mencia, vermentino and falanghina). Corrina Wright (the Oliver family’s first winemaker) makes the wines. In '21 the family celebrated 180 years of grapegrowing. Exports to the UK, the US, Singapore and Taiwan. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Six generations of stubborn, competitive growers and one equally spirited winemaker- that’s the Oliver family. Living smack bang in the middle of McLaren Vale, they flourish on producing perfect parcels of fruit on their 100 hectare ‘Taranga’ property. Their collection of small batch, handcrafted wines speak of both the variety and vintage, capturing a time and place, while continuing to document the family’s ongoing 180 year relationship with the land.
