âRuinart, the oldest Champagne house founded in 1729, specializes in Chardonnay. This wine is soft, with an orange zest aroma and with wonderful toast and yeast flavors. It is mature, finely balanced, ready to drink.â

âWonderful savory and toasty complexity. Aromas of toasted bread, mussel shells, chamomile, honey and dried citrus. Itâs medium-bodied, silky and seamless, with a sharp backbone of acidity tying everything together. Reductive and intense. Drink or hold.â
About This Wine
Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2013 is made exclusively from Chardonnay sourced from Grands and Premiers Crus vineyards. Seventy percent of the blend comes from the Côte des Blancs, including Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly and Bergères-lès-Vertus, with the remaining thirty percent from the Montagne de Reims, including Verzenay, Sillery, Taissy and Villers-Marmery.
The 2013 vintage was marked by an unusually late harvest following a cool, rainy spring and the lowest average temperatures in the first half of the year in two decades. This slow ripening contributed to a distinctive balance and freshness in the finished wine.
This cuvĂŠe underwent alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with full malolactic fermentation. Ageing included extended lees ageing of at least nine years and maturation under cork, with manual disgorgement.
