The timeless Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay, with its gorgeous fruit complexity and mouth-watering freshness, is Margaret River’s definitive chardonnay and one of Western Australia’s great modern traditions.
Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay has a pristine and lifted nose, highlighted by Nashi pears, limes, white peach and fig, complimented by nutmeg, cinnamon, almonds and sesame that creates subtle complexity. The palate has concentration with clarity and purity. An introduction of grapefruit and pear lead to a delicately textured, layered and woven palate with nougat, anise and cashews present. There is immense length that finishes with a fine acid line and mineral finish.
Critic tasting note: "Gingerbread and vanilla aromas are light, as are the vanilla accents on the palate. This wine's citrus core and soft, powdery feel are very nice. But it's still a lightweight, and somewhat of a disappointment, given its lofty reputation and past performance. Imported by Old Bridge Cellars." - Wine Enthusiast

Winery
Leeuwin Estate is one of the five founding wineries in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. The estate is most famous for its Art Series wine range of varietal Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Chardonnay amoungst others. The property was a cattle ranch until 1972 when Napa Valley's Robert Mondavi visited Australia and saw the potential the property had for growing grapes. The first vintage was released in 1979, and the winery became instantly famous when Decanter Magazine gave the 1980 Art Series Chardonnay its highest rating.
