The 2015 Dalwhinnie The Eagle Shiraz is a flagship cool-climate Shiraz from Victoria’s Pyrenees region, showcasing elegance, structure, and remarkable regional definition. Produced by Dalwhinnie Wines, The Eagle represents the pinnacle of the estate’s Shiraz program, crafted only from exceptional vineyard parcels and built for long-term ageing.

Situated at elevation in the Pyrenees region of western Victoria, Dalwhinnie’s vineyards experience warm days and cool nights, allowing for slow ripening and excellent flavour concentration while retaining freshness and natural acidity. The outstanding 2015 vintage delivered fruit of exceptional balance, producing a wine of both power and finesse.

In the winery, fruit was hand-harvested and fermented with careful extraction to preserve aromatic purity and structural detail. Maturation took place in premium French oak barrels, adding layers of spice, texture, and integration while allowing the cool-climate character of the fruit to remain central.

Now with a decade of bottle age, the wine reveals a beautifully complex bouquet of blackberry, dark plum, and black cherry, layered with notes of black pepper, star anise, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and subtle earthy nuance. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and finely structured, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savoury finish that reflects both vineyard pedigree and careful maturation.
