A medium bodied ruby red wine with crimson hues. Savoury on the nose with aromas of nori sheet, bay leaf, roast capsicum, earthy, cedary with some red berry notes. Nicely balanced on the palate with soft grainy tannins and moderate acidity and subtle oak.

"85/8/5/2% cabernet sauvignon (Houghton clone)/malbec/petit verdot/cabernet franc. Matured for 18 months in French oak. The mention of Houghton clone in Wilyabrup is important, for the particular way that it expresses itself: supple, succulent, red fruited and powerful; it imbues the wines with grace and ease. So too, this release. This has all these attributes, layers of pomegranate, raspberry, red licorice, salt bush, cassis and peppercorn. A beautiful wine, with a proven track record for graceful ageing. This vintage will be no exception."

"Destemmed into closed-top fermenters, then split into three. One batch is pressed off skins early to complete fermentation in oak, another pressed off just after fermentation, the third left on skins for 40 days post-ferment. The bouquet is perfumed with red flowers and cassis, the finish long and elegant."

"Medium-deep red-purple, a lighter density colour for cabernet, bright red fruits and blue, violets and other flowers, beautiful bell-clear varietal character bursting from the glass. The wine is elegantly formed and medium bodied, with fine, supple tannins and lovely balance."

"The 2019 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon is juicy, bright and beautiful. The style at Fraser Gallop errs toward earlier picks, although the 14% alcohol on the label coupled with the ripe fruit in the mouth suggests that, in this cool year, picking was "when ripe." This is a delicious wine that routinely offers brilliant value-for-money drinking and a very elegant Cabernet experience. It is composed of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc."

"From prime Wilyabrup real estate, Parterre is comprised of 85% cabernet sauvignon with 8% malbec and a sprinkling of petit verdot and cabernet franc. The 2019 has been navigated with aplomb, yielding some cooler herbal, bay, and minty notes, without the loss of blackberry and ripe red berries. There's a poise and grace here, and 18 months in oak has been absorbed well. Tannins are young and a little firm, and decanting, or preferably cellaring, will integrate all the elements so this can shine."

"Always a good wine, is Parterre.
Red berries, seaweed and bay leaf, a little chocolate richness, and spicy fruit biscuits. Ripe, blackberry and red fruits, some tobacco, roast red capsicum and mint and cocoa powder, supple yet grainy tannin, baking spice and a slightly dry tannin grip on a long finish. A little bit of chew, and perhaps slightly baked in flavour profile, but very good."

"Aromas of redcurrants, red cherries, rosehip, nutmeg and paprika. Medium- to full-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. Bright and fresh on the palate with lovely herbal character. Black tea and tobacco, too. Lovely structure. 85% cabernet sauvignon, 8% malbec, 5% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc. Best after 2024. Screw cap."

"Chocolate, cassis, vanilla, liquorice and meaty charcuterie flavours. The palate is intense and driving, with ample tannins and suppleness. A complex wine."

"This cabernet sauvignon dominant wine has so much to offer. It all comes together in an elegant cabernet of poise and beautiful refinement. Lots of red fruit and floral notes in here. The oak has been well managed to harness and control the palate into a focused and very long finish. Like most ‘19s this needs a little more time to reveal its best and it will continue to reveal more with further bottle time."
