The Roennfeldt Road site, located in the western Barossa near Marananga, is famed for its ancient, low-yielding vines rooted in hard, skeletal soils. These vines produce minuscule crops of tiny, thick-skinned berries that deliver profound intensity, colour and structure — the hallmarks of this legendary wine.

The 2020 vintage was warm and notably low-yielding, resulting in exceptionally dense and powerful Shiraz. Despite the challenges of the season, the fruit from Roennfeldt Road achieved outstanding ripeness and concentration, with superb tannin maturity and remarkable depth. This is a vintage that captures the trademark strength of Roennfeldt Road in a more compact, tightly coiled frame.

The wine opens with explosive aromas of blackberry liqueur, black plum, blueberry reduction and mulberry.
