2021 Eisenstone Mattcheoss Vyd Greenock Shiraz 750ml

Wines from the Greenock sub region are considered by winemakers as being “complete”, meaning have a rich even pallet and variety of complementary flavours. This wine exemplifies all of these characteristics.

The Mattcheoss vineyard lies to the western side of Greenock Creek in deep red soils that slop gently to the East. The parcel of grapes used for the single vineyard wine are sourced from 40+ year old Shiraz vines that produce densely coloured and intensely flavoured wines the region is famous for.

The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved the minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered. This single vineyard wines is a special barrel selection of the Greenock Shiraz.
