About This Wine

This 2024 release is a modern take on Australia’s traditional expression of Chardonnay. It is described as medium-bodied and easy drinking, balancing fruit, acid and oak so neither overpowers the other.

The cool climate fruit shaped the intended style, with freshness from crisp acidity and citrus-peach-like aromatics. A hint of oak contributes to a creamy finish. Think white peach & nougat.

The inspiration for this Chardonnay came from a bottle discovered in Paris a decade ago, noted for its vibrancy and restrained oak that allowed a spectrum of fruit flavours to show.

About the Producer

Cavedon Wines is the latest chapter in a story that dates back almost 50 years. The Cavedon family settled in the King Valley in the 1970s, with Dino Cavedon becoming one of the early pioneers of the region. His work in viticulture was recognised by the Department of Agriculture, who approached him to develop techniques to further the field.

In 2018, Dino passed the reins to his daughter Pia and her husband Gabe. Largely self-taught, Gabe heads up the winemaking with meticulous attention to detail, utilising techniques rare in the region including skin contact in whites, early picking and pressing of reds and bottle fermentation with Prosecco.

Since vintage 2023, Cavedon Wines has been sustainably certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia. All wines are made with minimal intervention and are vegan-friendly.
