"This is pinot grigio in the classic Italian style, with cool pear notes and a joyous brightness of fruit and subdued orchard florals. It’s got a bit more weight and texture than that reference, though, with the quality of fruit shining through, a crunchy nashi note key. It’s interesting in that way, as it feels light and crisp up front, but the fruit concentration underlying endorses that earlier picking decision, with ample flavour, slippery, pulpy texture and invigorating acidity."

About This Wine
After discovering his love for Pinot Grigio in the cool climate of Northern Italy, Dino decided to plant the variety in the early 90’s in the King Valley. At the time, Italian varietals were not widely planted in the region and Pinot Grigio was still an emerging variety in Australia.
After decades of growing the fruit, the winery produced its own Pinot Grigio as part of the Cavedon range.

Like our other whites, the aromatics & flavours are really noticeable. It's dry, drinkable and light, yet nothing is watered down and it still holds plenty of character. Think crisp nashi pear, citrus & all crunchy natural acidity.
About the Producer
Cavedon Wines is the latest chapter in a story that dates back almost 50 years. The Cavedon family settled in the King Valley in the 1970s, with Dino Cavedon becoming one of the early pioneers of the region. His work in viticulture was recognised by the Department of Agriculture, who approached him to develop techniques to further the field.
In 2018, Dino passed the reins to his daughter Pia and her husband Gabe. Largely self-taught, Gabe heads up the winemaking with meticulous attention to detail, utilising techniques rare in the region including skin contact in whites, early picking and pressing of reds and bottle fermentation with Prosecco.
Since vintage 2023, Cavedon Wines has been sustainably certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia. All wines are made with minimal intervention and are vegan-friendly.
