Sourced from certified biodynamic bush vines in the elevated sands of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, this wine is a stunning expression of site, vine age, and thoughtful winemaking.

Established in 1946 and acquired by Jackson Family Wines in 2001, Yangarra has become internationally renowned for producing Rhône-inspired wines from organically and biodynamically farmed estate vineyards. The estate's old bush vine Grenache, many planted in 1946, consistently produces fruit of exceptional concentration while maintaining remarkable freshness and finesse.

The 2024 growing season delivered ideal conditions, with a mild spring and a long, even ripening period that allowed the old vines to develop exceptional flavour intensity while preserving vibrant natural acidity. Low yields and meticulous hand harvesting ensured only the highest-quality fruit was selected.

The grapes were hand-picked and partially whole-bunch fermented with indigenous yeasts before gentle basket pressing. The wine was matured predominantly in large seasoned French oak foudres and ceramic eggs, preserving the purity of fruit while enhancing texture and allowing the distinctive Blewitt Springs terroir to shine.

The bouquet is intensely perfumed, revealing aromas of wild raspberry, red cherry, strawberry, blood orange, and pomegranate, layered with rose petals, dried thyme, white pepper, exotic spice, and subtle earthy minerality. As the wine opens, delicate savoury notes of tea leaf and crushed stone add further complexity.

The palate is medium-bodied, silky, and beautifully refined. Bright red berry fruits are supported by ultra-fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional mineral tension. The hallmark sandy soils of Blewitt Springs contribute elegance and precision, while the finish is long, savoury, and effortlessly balanced.
